UP Chief Minister to hold meeting with farmers today
According to fresh reports, in a obvious move to woo farmers in the backdrop of their agitations in Bhatta-Parsaul and Katesar at Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati has announced to hold a ‘kisan panchayat’
While talking to media, an official from the Mayawati government said, “The CM will hold a panchayat today to discuss the problems of the farmers by meeting them.”
The state chief minister is under attack from opposition parties for allegedly not taking interest of farmers after the incident of Bhatt-Parsaul (Greater Noida).
However, after the young congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s visit to the affected village, party leaders and it’s president Sonia Gandhi has introduced a direct attack on the UP government terming it of adopting ‘anti-farmers’ attitude.
Moreover, discussion on land purchasing issue, the issues concerned to power supply, presence of seeds as well as fertilizers and procurement of wheat are likely to be taken up.
After the panchayat, the state chief minister is likely to make some decisions redressing grievances of the farmers.
