The Adani Group declared its proposals to make an investment of $ 6 billion by the next three years period to swell its three core clusters of resources, logistics and energy.
The company said that the said investment will be financed through a blend of internal accruals, equity and debt.
Adani Group is the biggest importer and provider of coal and possesses mining and expansion rights for 130-million tonne coal mining in the Indian market.
It also possesses coal mining rights in the Indonesian as well as Australian market.
It anticipates managing 200 million tonnes of coal by the next 8 years.
The Gautam Adani-possessed firm has started coal mining exploration in the Galilee Basin in Queensland, Australia.
Mr. Adani stated, “We will be investing $6 billion into our overseas assets (spread in Australia and Indonesia) by 2015,” Group Chairman Gautam Adani told reporters here after unveiling a new corporate identity. The Adani Group said the proposed investment was over and above the overall spending into the group's various business interests under its ‘vision 2020' “We have commenced our mining exploration in the Galilee Basin in Queensland, marking the culmination of the first phase of our foray into Australia.”
Mr. Adani also said that the group would divert its real estate biz to the family on an arms-length pricing basis, as the group considered realty to be a non-core activity.
When questioned whether the concentration on resources would also comprise entering novel regions, he answered ‘no', adding that Adani Group had no interest in any other asset class presently.
About Adani's proposal to lift up British Gas equity stake in Gujarat Gas, Adani spokesman Ameet Desai said, “The group is evaluating the potential acquisition of BG Group stake and the due diligence is under way.”
