Bollywood actor Abhishek Bachchan thinks it is pointless for Indian media to compare Indian movie award functions to a ceremonial occasion like Oscars as here the majority of such occasions are structured by the media houses themselves.
On his Twitter account, Abhi penned, "Interesting to see-read a lot of the media comparing the Oscars to our Indian awards. Most seem to think that we need to improve, raise our standards... Wait a minute... Aren't most of OUR awards run and held by media houses."
"Take the initiative, we shall follow," Junior Bachchan added, taking a dig at media people, who hailed Feb 26th 84th Academy Awards ceremonial occasion taken place in Los Angeles.
Some lauded the ceremonial occasion for its transparent system of victor selection, whilst a few celebs like Mini Mathur are overwhelmed with the accurate titles to the honors.
"It's just so correct that an original screenplay n adapted screenplay gets judged in separate categories," tweeted Mini.
