NTPC will open commercial bids in the tender for the supply of supercritical boilers at 10:30 am today.
It is discovered that BHEL, L&T and BGR Energy made it to the commercial bid round in the equipment provider selection procedure
State owned power generator is addressing the tender procedure for the administration that wishes to witness the establishment of 11 divisions of supercritical power facilities, 660 MW each, spread over five localities in the country.
The deal's value would be approximately Rs 15,000 crore, which will witness corporates fighting it out to bag the deal.
It may be remembered that the company had to postpone the bidding course after Ansaldo, the Italian power equipment maker which is now majority-possessed by Gammon India, went to the Court against NTPC Jan 2012, after it was banned in the 'technical bid' round of the tender.
As per media reports Ansaldo was banned on the grounds that the 'evaporator' - a boiler component - of the facility offered as the reference facility, was not contrived by Ansaldo.
But, NTPC is going for bids today after the SC ruled in firm’s favor.
In the meantime, scrip of BGR remained up by 6% to Rs 355.75, BHEL also surged 4% to Rs 318 accompanying this news.
NTPC and L&T remained marginally up.
