Country Eyes Rs 5 Increase In Petrol Rates
Get ready for a steep increase of approximately Rs 4-5 per litre in petrol rates during March.
The said increase is expected to be declared as early as March 15 or by March end once assembly goes into a break.
Nationalized oil firms are demanding an increase in the rates of petrol, diesel, liquefied petroleum gas plus kerosene oil.
But a source from petroleum ministry stated, “While petrol prices may go up, it’s difficult to say anything about the other products, especially when UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi cited price rise as one of the reasons for her party doing poorly in the assembly elections.”
