Born on 19 March 1984, Bollywood actress Tanushree Dutta bagged the most-coveted Femina Miss India universe title in the year 2004.

Born and raised in Jamshedpur, Tanushree did her schooling from Jamshedpur, and bagged her graduation degree from Pune University.

Dutta gained the Femina Miss India 2004 contest, which took place in Mumbai; later she bagged the title of Femina Miss India Universe 2004 and represented her home country at Miss Universe 2004 Quito, Ecuador where she was ranked among the Top 10.

In the year 2005, the Jharkhand administration honored her by issuing postcards and stamps boasting her.

She entered the film industry in 2005 featuring in films including Chocolate and Aashiq Banaya Apne.
