Happy Birthday Satish Kaushik
Satish Kaushik is a Bollywood film director, film maker and actor.
He was born in a village Dhanounda, region Mohindergarh, Haryana.
He completed his graduation from Kirori Mal College, New Delhi and afterward studied at Film and Television Institute of India Pune.
As a film actor he is commemorated for his character as 'Calendar' in 1987 mega hit film, Mr. India and as 'Chanu Ahmed' in Sarah Gavron's British movie Brick Lane (2007).
Satish commenced his profession as an assistant director to Shekhar Kapoor in the movie Masoom.
His first film as director was Anil-Sridevi starrer Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja (1993) and his second, Prem (1995), which was said to be Tabu's launch movie, both were box-office duds, yet he carried on his movie making and lastly got his first hit with Hum Aapke Dil Mein Rehte Hain in the year 1999.
He co-wrote and anchored a TV countdown show, 'Philips Top Ten' for which he bagged the Screen Videocon Award.
In the year 2007, Anupam Kher began a new movie production company, together with Satish Kaushik, 'Karol Bagh Productions', and their first movie, Teree Sang, is being directed by Satish Kaushik.[5]
Satish also pocketed Filmfare Best Comedian Award two times in the year 1990 for film Ram Lakhan and 1997 for Saajan Chale Sasural.
