Born on 15 April 1972, Mandira Bedi is an Indian actress, model and TV presenter who earned celebrity rank playing the lead character in the 1994 TV show, Shanti, shown on India's national channel, Doordarshan.
She was born in Kolkata to Verinder Singh Bedi and Gita Bedi.
She did her schooling from Mumbai's Cathedral and John Connon School and completed her Graduation in Economics from St. Xaviers College, Mumbai accompanied by a post-graduation in Media from Sophia Polytech that is also situated in Mumbai.
Mandira pursued her profession in TV shows such as Aurat (DD and Sony), Dushman (DD) and Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi (Star Plus) together with hosting duties for ICC Cricket World Cups in 2003 and 2007 and the Champions Trophies in 2004 and 2006 in addition to IPL season 2 for Sony Max.
She also worked in the 1995 mega hit movie Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge. Among her other career spotlights comprise a stint as one of the presenters on the Indian TV talent contest/reality show, Fame Gurukul, substituting R. Madhavan as the anchor of Deal Ya No Deal, and hosted the musical reality show Jo Jeeta Wohi Super Star on STAR, plus posing for a photo layout in the male's mag, Maxim India.
She also judged two comedy shows named Funjabi Chak De and Laughter Knights together with Navjot Sidhu on Star One.
She also won the first season of Fear Factor India, when it appeared on Sony Entertainment Television.
In addition, she promoted brands such as Asmi diamonds, South Africa Tourism, Leher namkeen, Dabur Vatika, Sree Ganesh Jewellery house, eBay India and Dettol extra.
Mandira Bedi tied the knot with Raj Kaushal on February 14, 1999.
She delivered a baby boy, Vir, on June 19, 2011 at Lilvati Hospital, Mumbai.
